Diving Deep Into December

This is the last week of school and we are doing an activity. The activity is about giving someone that doesn't have much, a thoughtful and special gift for Christmas. 

Kapa Haka

Last week we had our Kapa Haka festival on Wednesday. I loved being up on the stage in front of everyone. My favourite part was when the boys came up from behind us and to the front of the stage and performed the Haka. It was such an awesome day.

The morning light shined through a hole in my curtain. My eyes started bilking open, rolling onto my side to doge the light I shoved my face in my pillow. Needing to get up, I lazily force my legs to get out of my bed. My legs hit the ground. Falling onto the floor I hear my mum say “come on breakfast is ready’’. With a happy thought in my head, I need to find a way to get there faster. Wobbling the to the stairs I pull myself up on the arm rest helper thats on the stairs, and slide my way down. Missing the landing, I land on my bum. Doing a hip raise because my bum hurt I land on my face cause I done it to forsfully. I WAS TO LATE MY BREAKFAST WAS ALL GONE.

I like this quick write because, I use persuasion and use speech marks and overall it is a good quick write.

Athletics

Athletics

Hi again, I have finished my athletics for this year. It was last week on Tuesday. I placed second in 100m and second in 200m. After all the running was finished it was time for us to do our high jump, long jump and ball through. I placed first in long jump, second in ball through and did not place in high jump. That all I did in the athletics day. 

And yesterday we had the interschool athletics day. It's when all the place getters from each school come to this place and we face each other. I loved the athletics day because even though I did not get placed overall, was an awesome day!

Cafe Day

Cafe Day

Hello Again,

Our Cafe Day that we were planning for months we are finally ready. Our Cafe Day is this Thursday the 2nd of November 2018. It is in our big hall. We are having some of our ukulele players playing some songs. We put together a skateboarding video. And we have an amazing person in our class that can play the cello. And the jump jam people are doing a dance for the elderly that are coming ect. We are putting together some baking that they can help themselves to. And have coffee, tea and other cold drinks. I will try and get some photos of the Cafe Day.

UPDATE ON THE GARDEN!

Hello again,

We have made some progress on the garden. We have planted some strawberries. Because we went around and asked classes what fruit they would most like to see in the garden out of all the fruit they would most like to see is strawberries. And we planted some sunflower seeds at the back.

PJ Day

Hi again. We had a PJ day on Thursday last week, because we fundraising for some seeds and some different stuff for the school garden. The reason we are doing a PJ day is because our buzz group is doing the garden. If you don't know what a buzz group is, it is a group
of 5 people that the teachers picked. Our focus for this term is action speak louder than words. We chose to look after the garden.


This is a before picture of the garden. Then later on I will post a photo of the garden next term when its starting to grow.       

      

Colour Day

On Tuesday everyone in the whole entire school dressed up in their colour. Because on Friday the teachers got to pick out a colour on the stage at assembly. Our teacher picked out BLUE! I was so happy when he read out blue. Everyone in our class was so happy. We dressed up so we could donate a gold coin to build a playground for Plant Sunshine.

Quick Write

Particles of dust drifted. One by one down a brown boot. The soft brown dust slid its way down onto the ground. Starting to form a pile the size of a teaspoon. Stepping a foot away from the boot more dust appeared. Peeping my head over the brown boot I could see that a mouse or 2 had been chewing on my boot. The seems of the boot were gone. Bending my arm down to go and see more of what's inside. Something small. Something like a MOUSE. The mouse was still in the boot. Chewing on the seams.

Bake Sale

On the 6th of July we are doing a bake sale to
fundraiser for a half pipe for our school. If you don't
know what a half pipe is, it is two ramps connected together (shaped like the letter 'U') for skating.
There are going to be food for sale for 50c $1 $2 $3.

How To Catch A Wave

In reading we have been reading a report on How To Catch A Wave. One of our reading activities was to  create a digital learning object (DLO). 

Quick Write - My messy room!

Today I've finished  a quick write activity on Storybird.com about my messy room. Our teacher picks the topic. One day of the week is a Storybird.  We have to do a quick write every day. But sometimes we go to the beach and write about what we have experienced at the beach.

Quick Write

A quick write is when our teacher give us 20 to 30 minutes to write. Our teacher gives us the sentence starter. A quick write is a fast short writing time. Here is my quick write I did today.

Tuesday 22 May 2018
As I slid down the muddy bank, a sharp pain shot up my leg.
Looked down and there it was a sharp stick stuck right up my leg. "OH GOSH PLEASE NO"
I screamed in agony. As I sat up, stumble fall face first. Ouch not my good leg. I had to make it to the other side before dark. Barley standing i stumble the whole way. I see mum in the distance waiting, waving. I barely held mum i'm over here. Blacked out. TO BE CONTINUED.

Timetable!

Lately we have been using something called a digital timetable. It helps me to know where I need to be and what time I need to be there. So every week we have to click onto our moana learning hub. The moana learning hub is our class website. In our emails is a link to learning where we have to pick what learning we want to do like reading, maths, writing and lots more. I know what workshop to go to because I know my learning I know

The workshops go for half an hour. We do the work shops with Matua Fergus and Koka Ngaire. The workshops go from Monday to Thursday. I bet you're wondering about Friday. Friday is our home room it's like our finishing day and Art. I like that we get to pick what we want to do instead the teacher a telling us what to do.

I LOVE MY TIMETABLE!!!!!!

All of us in moana 2&3 got to pick out a piece of paper. We closed our eyes and picked out a piece of paper that was in a basket. On the piece of paper was a design and at the end was a finished picture of something we didn't know at the time. Our one came out to be an eagle.
